Privacy Policy

Slim was built so that the privacy question never arises: there is nothing to collect, because the app has nowhere to send it. Slim has no backend server, no user account, and no login. Every operation — selecting a video, compressing it, saving the result — happens locally on your device.

None. We do not receive your name, email address, phone number, device identifier, advertising identifier, IP address, location, usage statistics, crash reports, or any content you process with the app.

Slim requests only the permissions it genuinely needs to function.

• Photo Library (read and write) — required so the app can read the video you choose and save the compressed copy back to your library. iOS controls this permission, and you can change or revoke it at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
• Background processing — used so that a compression job you have already started can finish if you leave the app. This is a standard iOS scheduling capability and does not involve any network access or permission prompt.

Slim does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, notification, or health permissions.

When you compress a video:

• The app reads the selected video from your photo library.
• It re-encodes the video using Apple's on-device video framework, running on your device's own hardware.
• The compressed file is written to a temporary folder on your device and then saved into your photo library.
• Temporary working files are removed once the job completes or when the app next launches.
• No video, frame, thumbnail, filename, or metadata is uploaded anywhere at any point.

We never see your videos. We have no technical means of doing so.

Slim saves a small amount of information locally so the app behaves as you expect — for example your compression preferences and a record of items you have compressed. This data is stored in the app's own private storage on your device, is not readable by us, and is removed when you delete the app.

Slim offers optional paid upgrades ("Slim Pro"). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple's In-App Purchase system.

• Payment details are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
• The app asks Apple's StoreKit framework whether the signed-in Apple Account owns a Slim Pro purchase, so it knows whether to unlock paid features. That check happens between your device and Apple.
• We receive only aggregate, anonymous sales reporting from Apple, which does not identify individual customers.

Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one.

Slim displays no advertisements and integrates no advertising or mediation SDK. The app does not collect or transmit an advertising identifier, and it never presents an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you across apps or websites.

Slim contains no analytics platform, attribution SDK, or crash-reporting service. We do not measure your sessions, screen views, retention, or feature usage. If you experience a problem, please email us — that is the only way we learn about it.

Slim does not include AI or machine-learning features that send your content to a remote service. Compression is performed by Apple's standard on-device video encoding APIs.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with third parties, because we do not collect any. There are no service providers, data processors, or advertising partners involved in your use of the app.

The only external party in the relationship is Apple, in its role as the App Store distributor and payment processor.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Information stored locally by the app remains on your device under your control and is removed when you delete the app.

The strongest security property of Slim is architectural: data that is never transmitted cannot be intercepted, breached, or leaked from a server. Information the app stores locally is protected by iOS application sandboxing and the device encryption provided by your passcode or biometric lock.

Slim performs no international data transfers, since it transmits no personal data at all. Any transfer relating to your App Store purchase is handled by Apple under Apple's own policies.

Slim is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, or export personal data a company holds about you, and to object to certain processing.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You retain full control over content on your own device, and you can revoke Slim's photo library access or delete the app at any time.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, note that we do not act as a data controller or processor of your personal data in connection with the app, because no personal data is collected or transmitted to us. Your rights under the GDPR remain unaffected, and you may contact us at any time with a question or request.

California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Slim collects no personal information, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

The app may link to external web pages, such as this policy or our terms. Those pages and any other external site you reach from the app operate under their own policies. Slim bundles no third-party SDK.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its "Last updated" date, and material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
