Terms of Use

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:

• You have read and understood these Terms.
• You agree to comply with these Terms.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions become effective immediately upon publication on this page unless otherwise stated, and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by the laws of your country, to use the Services. If you are under the legal age of majority, you may use the Services only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable licence to download and install the application on Apple-branded devices you own or control, and to use it for your personal purposes, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

No ownership rights are transferred to you. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, decompile, or reverse-engineer the application, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.

Slim reduces the file size of videos stored in your photo library. To do this it reads the video you select, re-encodes it using Apple's on-device video framework, and saves a compressed copy back to your photo library.

• All processing runs on your device's own hardware.
• No video, frame, thumbnail, or filename is uploaded anywhere.
• Slim has no server component and no user account.
• Compression may continue briefly in the background so that a job you started is not lost when you leave the app.

You keep all rights to the videos you process with Slim. We claim no ownership of your content, do not receive a copy of it, and grant ourselves no licence over it — because your content never reaches us.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to process the videos you select, and for complying with applicable law when you do so.

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Use the Services to process content you do not have the right to process.
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the application except where permitted by law.
• Circumvent, tamper with, or attempt to defeat the app's purchase, licensing, or entitlement mechanisms.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

Slim is free to download and includes optional paid upgrades, collectively "Slim Pro". Payments are processed exclusively by the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

Exact prices are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase and may vary by region and over time.

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Managing Your Subscription

You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the period already paid for.

Lifetime Unlock

The lifetime option is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account, valid for the supported lifetime of the app. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

Restoring Purchases

Purchases are tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on your other devices using Restore Purchases, available on the upgrade screen and in the app's settings.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue refunds directly. Requests can be made at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Where a free trial or introductory offer is available, any unused portion of a free period is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during that period. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends, a free trial converts automatically into a paid subscription at the standard price.

Slim contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracking libraries. There are no advertisers or data partners involved in your use of the app. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.

All rights, title, and interest in the Services — including the software, source code, user interface, graphics, icons, logos, text, trademarks, and designs — remain the exclusive property of the developer or its licensors.

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, license, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how information is handled.

We aim to provide a reliable app but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or remove any part of the Services at any time, including as required by changes to iOS. We aim to keep paid features working for as long as the app is supported, but we do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.

Video compression is lossy by design. The compressed output will not be identical to the original, and quality loss cannot be reversed. Slim saves the compressed video as a new item and does not delete your original, but you remain responsible for your own files. Always keep your originals until you have reviewed the compressed result and confirmed it is acceptable for your purposes. We are not responsible for any loss of quality, data, or files arising from your use of the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and availability. We do not guarantee that the Services will operate without interruption, that defects will be corrected, or that a particular compression ratio, output quality, or processing speed will be achieved.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer, its affiliates, and its partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of content arising from or related to the use of the Services. Where permitted by law, total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer, its affiliates, officers, employees, licensors, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, we reasonably believe your use creates legal or security risks, or we discontinue the Services. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before termination, and does not affect your rights in respect of purchases already made, which remain governed by Apple's terms.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional policies referenced here, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer concerning your use of the Services.

Because Slim is distributed through the Apple App Store:

• Apple Inc. is not responsible for the application or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the application.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the application, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• Your use of the application is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
